BREAKING: GLENN BECK'S HEAD EXPLODES AFTER MITT ROMNEY WINS SRLC STRAW POLL.

April 12, 2010, 1:52PM

Accounts are just beginning to come in about a giant explosion near the News Corp offices on Manhattan's Sixth Avenue.  Eyewitness reports are indicating that Glenn Beck's head exploded upon learning of 'Socialist' Mitt Romney's win at the Southern Republican Leadership Council meeting this weekend.

Reports are sketchy, but one eyewitness has reported seeing a large stain on the windows of the Fox News studios, the result of Beck's cranial detonation.  A Fox news executive that wished to remain anonymous has told this reporter that no one was harmed in the blast, but that the studio was covered in a tapioca pudding like substance that staffers are assuming are the contents of Beck's skull.  The executive also noted that Fox News' president, Roger Ailes is confident that most of the tapioca could be recovered and temporarily placed inside a melon, and that Beck would be on-air tonight as scheduled.

Insiders report that it was feared that Beck's mind couldn't handle the possibility of presumptive GOP presidential frontrunner, Mitt Romney being chosen as the Republican nominee in 2012, since Beck had recently branded Romney a 'Socialist' who was as unfit for the Presidency as Barack Obama.  This event seems confirm that hypothesis.

It was assumed, since Beck's head had not exploded this weekend immediately after the results became public, that Beck had not heard the news.  This news was  also confirmed by an unnamed SLRC spokesperson who stated that since the SLRC was not paying speaking fees, Beck would have no inclination to attend the conference, and likely did not even know it had occurred.

More on this dramatic news as it comes in.

SOME VERY INTERESTING RESULTS FOR A FOX POLL. WHY DOESN'T FOX REPORT ALL OF THIS??

To be clear, this poll is pretty damning to both parties, but to hear it on Fox News, one would not get this impression.  Only the items that show the democrats and Obama in a negative light are mentioned (and repeated ad nauseum)

Here's the poll;  FOX NEWS POLL

Also, look at the questions, the way they are being asked and some of the wordage used.  These aren't push polls, but they are a bit cheeky.   Just as an example, question #41 says this;

Based on what you know, do you think Nancy Pelosi and Congressional Democrats played by the rules to get health care legislation passed or did they change the rules?

This question is loaded in more than one way.  They are asking if the Democrats 'played by the rules.'  -- Well, clearly everything that was done was WITHIN THE RULES.  There is NO RULE against using RECONCILIATION.  I repeat the 'rule' of RECONCILIATION was not changed, amended, or altered by this Congress.  These are the same rules used to pass the Bush tax cuts for the rich.  REMEMBER, the GOP NEVER had a super-majority during W's tenure.  Wouldn't it be logical to ask if other Congresses 'played by the rules' too, or Is this poll implying that the 'rules' were broken then too??

Also, some of these results seem kind of dubious.  In this poll, 56 PERCENT of self-described REPUBLICAN respondents say that they HAVE NEVER HEARD OF JOHN BOEHNER.   HUH???  Is this really believable? REMEMBER this is a FOX news poll, after all.
And for all the vitriol, the Congressional APPROVAL rating is essentially unchanged in 2 YEARS.  One would think by the way Fox portrayed it that Americans are 'fed-up' and prepared for an insurrection.  WHY IS THIS RESULT NOT MENTIONED BY FOX ON-AIR?
SOME HIGHLIGHTS:

1 - By a 13 POINT MARGIN.  FOX'S respondents APPROVE of OBAMA'S handling of 'TERRORISM'   (50-37)  -- THIS RESULT IS NOT MENTIONED BY FOX ON-AIR.

2 - Barack Obama LEADS in FAVORABILITY ratings when compared to the GOP, Dem party, the Tea-Bagger, the IRS, Pelosi, Reid and Boehner.  THIS RESULT IS NOT MENTIONED BY FOX ON-AIR

            Favorable
Barack Obama 50%
The Internal Revenue Service 49%
The Democratic Party 42%
The Republican Party 40%
The Tea Party Movement 36%
Nancy Pelosi 29%
Harry Reid 16%
John Boehner 12%

3 - Nancy Pelosi is viewed as MORE FAVORABLE than John Boehner by 17 POINTS. - THIS RESULT IS NOT MENTIONED BY FOX ON-AIR.

4 - The IRS is viewed as MORE FAVORABLE than the Tea-Party Movement by 13 POINTS!!!  -- WOW.  THIS RESULT IS NOT MENTIONED BY FOX ON-AIR.

5 - Republicans have a FAR more FAVORABLE opinion of the Tea-Party than Independents do!!  (62-35)  HUH??? THIS RESULT IS NOT MENTIONED BY FOX ON-AIR.

6 -  40 PERCENT of the INDEPENDENT responders (a majority) said that they were 'SATISFIED' with the OBAMA ADMINISTRATION.   THIS RESULT IS NOT MENTIONED BY FOX ON-AIR.

7 -  INDEPENDENTS are split (24-25) on which party represents their values the most....Which two parties?  The DEMOCRATIC PARTY AND THE TEA-PARTY.  Only 10 PERCENT of INDEPENDENTS say that the REPUBLICAN PARTY represents their values!   THIS RESULT IS NOT MENTIONED BY FOX ON-AIR.

I guess FAIR and BALANCED are optional.

WATERLOO REDUX - PERSONA NON GRATA

WATERLOO REDUX - PERSONA NON GRATA

WOW.  How much must the Neo-Conned hate David Frum right now??
Fresh off of his withering critique of the GOP defeat on Health Care Reform, Frum slapped Rupert Murdoch when he stated;

"Republicans originally thought that Fox worked for us and now we're discovering we work for Fox."
OUCH!
Now Frum is continuing his quest to de-mystify the farce that the Neo-GOP has become.  It's sort of too bad he chose CNN to launch this salvo since apparently no one watches CNN anymore.  Regardless, Frum's statement is very telling, and a further indictment of the cottage industry Murdoch and Fox have carved out for themselves selling anger, fear and lies.

"What that means is that Fox, like Limbaugh, has an interest in pushing the Republicans to the margins, making people angry. When people are angry and alienated, they don't vote. They succumb to feelings of helplessness. What people need right now are feelings of power, that they can make a difference by participating in politics."

DOUBLE OUCH!

Frum again took to his blog to defend himself from allegations by the Flying Monkey Brigade, launched in a scathing Wall Street Journal Op-Ed and an attack piece by AEI Fellow, Charles Murray,  that follow the Neo-Con standard playbook for stifling dissension coming from within the ranks - Denounce, Discredit, and Destroy.  They did it to Colin Powell when he dared speak out, and there have been countless others who have been brought to heel before the Great Unelected One and his EIB throne.
Frum, however is far more intelligent (I can't believe I just said that) to be cowed by the Murdoch/Limbaugh clan, and breaks down his termination/resignation soap opera, revealing the ever-more radical direction some would like to see the GOP take, and implying that he was excommunicated from the sect because of, among other things, the supreme sacrilege of criticizing The Leader.

"I did attend for example the 2009 World Forum, and was fiercely scolded by Lynne Cheney for my criticisms of Rush Limbaugh. This year I was not invited at all, despite having obtained for the conference some of its most distinguished international guests."

He suggests that in chasing the money AEI was pandering to Neo-Con fringe elements who refuse to hear anyone say anything remotely critical of the party and the unfortunate direction its taken, and thus they had to sever ties with  Frum.  That suggestion clearly struck a nerve with Murray who retorted;

"Regarding donor pressure: The idea that AEI donors sit down to talk with AEI's president about who should and shouldn't be on the staff, or what the staff should write, is fantasy. David has never seen the slightest sign of anything like that at AEI. He can't have. He made it up. AEI has a culture, the scholars are fiercely proud of that culture, and at its heart is total intellectual freedom."

One would think that the co-founder of the AEI think tank would have some idea of the behind the scenes workings. Maybe not.  But the facts do indeed seem to contradict Murray's version of the events.  The Waterloo piece was posted Sunday, March 22. A Wall Street Journal editorial denouncing Frum is published the next day, Monday,March 23. Frum notes that he is 'summoned to lunch' by AEI President Arthur Brooks, mid-morning of that same day.  At that lunch he states that he is told by Brooks that AEI wishes to 'terminate his salary, office, benefits, and research assistance.'

Intellectual Freedom?  Sure.  24 hours after he publishes a piece critical of the party he's cast-off?  I don't buy it.

Frum rebuts further talking points designed to discredit him alleging that he was malingering on the job, by pointing out all of the work he's done for the cause.  It is interesting to note that Frum seems to make special note that some of his work for the GOP seems to be diametrically opposed to the current modus-operendi of the Flying Monkeys - that is to say, "Screw the electorate.  MAKE MONEY."   In defending his (paid) position at AEI, Frum notes his body of work and curiously states that he has;
"...written speeches on an unpaid basis for politicians I admire. I worked pro bono on a presidential nomination campaign. Then, there was the campaign to oppose Harriet Miers nomination. " (emphasis mine)

That's quite a subtle backhanded slap at the fee-based Neo-Con cheerleaders and paid spokespersons that currently populate the top of the heap.  Frum is saying;  Yes, I get paid for my job, but it's not purely for the paycheck like some others.

So, the Neo-Cons have denounced Frum, discredited him, and are now trying to destroy him.  But it seems he's not going down without at fight.  Expect some harsh rebukes from Murdoch's people in the coming days.

WATERLOO SUNSET? (AND THE REAL MISSION ACCOMPLISHED)

Waterloo Sunset.

DAVID FRUM - WATERLOO

David Frum, Uber-Bushie propagandist and the man who coined the term ‘Axis of Evil,’ (although he has since tried to distance himself from it by claiming that coming up with a 3 word term was a ‘team effort’ – the same team that brought us ‘Mission Accomplished’) penned a rather scathing judgment of the GOP’s bungled anti-health care reform jihad.

Now, I know anything that comes out his mouth should be taken with a (huge) grain of salt as we’re talking about a man who championed Rudy Giulliani’s impeccable conservative credentials as an advisor for America’s Mayor’s tragic failure of a Presidential bid, but he does make some serious points that conservatives would be well advised to take heed of.

At the beginning of this process we made a strategic decision: unlike, say, Democrats in 2001 when President Bush proposed his first tax cut, we would make no deal with the administration. No negotiations, no compromise, nothing. We were going for all the marbles. This would be Obama’s Waterloo – just as healthcare was Clinton’s in 1994.
Frum is one of the few Neo-cons with the fortitude to publically admit that the entire strategy for the GOP was ‘No deal…No negotiations, no compromise, nothing.’ Despite the hollow talking points that the Democrats were shutting the Republicans out of the debate, ignoring Republican ideas, the TRUTH is that the GOP had ZERO intention of participating in the process. Obstruction and delay were the tactics used to bog the President down in a too-costly war. A war that they thought they could ultimately win.

Their disingenuous calls for the President to negotiate with the Republican leadership were laughable, especially when everyone but Charlie Brown knew that Lucy was going to pull the football away before he got a chance to put it through the uprights. The joke was on the President as he kept pivoting to try to appease them with the hopes of gaining just one Republican vote so that he could claim bipartisan support. Ultimately, the result was a version of the bill none of them would ever vote for anyway, even though it reflected many of the specific concessions that many of them actually seemed to want. Indeed, they had succeeded in co-opting the President’s self proclaimed signature initiative, infuriating progressives and firing up their base, yet as Frum notes, it wasn’t enough. They wanted ‘all the marbles.’ They could have claimed victory at that moment, but they didn’t. Frum accurately summed it up thusly;

Could a deal have been reached? Who knows? But we do know that the gap between this plan and traditional Republican ideas is not very big. The Obama plan has a broad family resemblance to Mitt Romney’s Massachusetts plan. It builds on ideas developed at the Heritage Foundation in the early 1990s that formed the basis for Republican counter-proposals to Clinton-care in 1993-1994.
In the opening days of the health care battle. The mantra was that Romney-care was a far more palatable concept than the ideas presented by the liberals. Why, then didn’t they quit while they were ahead? Even Big Love Romney got into the act, trashing elements of the bill that might have well have had ‘Mitt was here’ on them. What the heck was he thinking?

I’ll tell you. Mitt was doing the McCain pivot – disowning pieces of legislation that had his indelible mark on them to pander to the furious few of the fanatical fringes.

We followed the most radical voices in the party and the movement, and they led us to abject and irreversible defeat.

There were leaders who knew better, who would have liked to deal. But they were trapped. Conservative talkers on Fox and talk radio had whipped the Republican voting base into such a frenzy that deal-making was rendered impossible…Yes it mobilizes supporters – but by mobilizing them with hysterical accusations and pseudo-information, overheated talk has made it impossible for representatives to represent and elected leaders to lead.
McCain was crucified by the Flying Monkeys in 2008 (remember how McCain wasn’t ‘pure’ enough for them?) and never recovered. Today he faces a primary challenge from a hate radio celebrity.

McCain was for Cap ‘n Trade before he was against it, was for Climate legislation before he was against it, and hysterically, was for McCain/Feingold before he was against it. That’s like Ronald McDonald disavowing the Big Mac and endorsing the Whopper.

Romney even released a statement today attacking the health care bill, saying in part;

His health-care bill is unhealthy for America. It raises taxes, slashes the more private side of Medicare, installs price controls….It will create a new entitlement even as the ones we already have are bankrupt. For these reasons and more, the act should be repealed. That campaign begins today.
Um, sounds a lot like Romney-care to me. This tactic didn’t work for McCain and my guess is that it won’t for Romney either. The DNC released a very quick rebuttal for Mitt;

"We're sure that it must be difficult to endure all the comparisons of the similarities between your signature health care plan and the bill passed last night when you are trying to appear to be the angriest of the angry far right wing in the Republican Party, but it doesn't cover up the blatant hypocrisy of lashing out against policy that you thought well enough of to campaign for and sign into law,"
Ouch!

As much as progressives lament the defeat of liberal ideals in favor of more pragmatic (read; conservative) compromises, this vote represented the burial of the moderate Republican. Once there was time when the moderates of the right had voices within their party, today they’re RINOs who need to be purged.

And most conservative analysts understand well that the goose-chase of ‘repeal the bill’ is a waste of time. Even the Chamber of Commerce is distancing themselves from this non-starter. Does anyone rationally think that the GOP can succeed in convincing a crucial demographic – senior citizens – that perscrition drug prices should really be allowed to continue to increase?

Frum continues;

No illusions please: This bill will not be repealed. Even if Republicans scored a 1994 style landslide in November, how many votes could we muster to re-open the “doughnut hole” and charge seniors more for prescription drugs? How many votes to re-allow insurers to rescind policies when they discover a pre-existing condition? How many votes to banish 25 year olds from their parents’ insurance coverage? And even if the votes were there – would President Obama sign such a repeal?
Mitt better watch what he hitches his wagon to, or he’ll be pulled off of the road. Unless his true goal is to land a plum FoxNews job or a lucrative reality show contract, he’d better think again about his next moves.

Anyway, David Frum’s assessment concludes by dispelling the myth that the Flying Monkeys represent anything more than their own self interests, something that most rational thinkers have known for quite sometime. Unfortunately, the poor tea-bagged patriots don’t seem to understand the reality that they’re being tea-bagged by Beck and his pill-popping papa.

The real leaders are on TV and radio, and they have very different imperatives from people in government. Talk radio thrives on confrontation and recrimination. When Rush Limbaugh said that he wanted President Obama to fail, he was intelligently explaining his own interests. What he omitted to say – but what is equally true – is that he also wants Republicans to fail. If Republicans succeed – if they govern successfully in office and negotiate attractive compromises out of office – Rush’s listeners get less angry. And if they are less angry, they listen to the radio less, and hear fewer ads for Sleepnumber beds.

So today’s defeat for free-market economics and Republican values is a huge win for the conservative entertainment industry. Their listeners and viewers will now be even more enraged, even more frustrated, even more disappointed in everybody except the responsibility-free talkers on television and radio. For them, it’s mission accomplished. For the cause they purport to represent, it’s Waterloo all right: ours.
The behavior of the unhinged tea-baggers did no service to the cause. Many (of the remaining) moderates left in the ‘big tent’ were shocked and appalled by the racism bigotry, and histrionics of politicians who behaved more like petulant children instead of ‘esteemed’ members of Congress.

Alas, the democrats have shown a remarkable ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, so I think Waterloo is perhaps a bit of an exaggeration. In the meantime, the democrats seemed to have – at least temporarily –given the President a little breathing room and allowed themselves an opportunity to live to fight another day.

If the Republican’s basic goal at the beginning of this debate was to neuter the President, they’ve failed, no matter how hard they try to rationalize or spin. November just got a little bit brighter for the Democrats.

THE SCARY TRUTH ABOUT GLENN BECK’S TRUE BELIEFS

Glenn “Big Love’ Beck, declared war on the teachings of  Jesus Christ and by extension all organized Christian religions around the world, including interestingly, his own religion; The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

On his show yesterday Glenn Beck went on what could only be described as an anti-Christian rant, decrying churches that following the teachings of the Bible, and begging people to abandon religion in the name of selfish greed.  It's true.  Listen to the rant!

Beck actually said;  "I'm begging you, your right to religion and freedom to exercise religion and read all of the passages of the Bible as you want to read them and as your church wants to preach them . . . are going to come under the ropes in the next year. If it lasts that long it will be the next year. I beg you, look for the words 'social justice' or 'economic justice' on your church Web site. If you find it, run as fast as you can. Social justice and economic justice, they are code words. Now, am I advising people to leave their church? Yes!"

Beck exhortation to his listeners to flee from any religious institution that promoted ‘Social Justice’ are putting him squarely at odds with the scriptures of the Book of Mormon.  Are you listening LDS followers?

The Book of Mormon teaches that “there should be an equality among all” (Mosiah 27:3.)  In fact, those scriptures also preach that all Mormons should “plead the cause of the poor and the needy” (D&C 124:75) as well as aspiring to a world where “there [are] no poor among [us]” (Moses 7:18)

Beck proposes that ‘Social and Economic Justice’ are somehow nefarious plots to defraud the wealthy.  He equates these basic religious tenets with Communism and Nazism, mocking what he called the philosophies of “economic justice, rights of the workers, redistribution of wealth, and surprisingly, democracy."

3 Nephi Chapter 24:5 contradicts Beck’s ravings by saying; the Lord with pass swift judgment  “against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger, and fear not me, saith the Lord of Hosts.”

“…oppress the hireling in his wages” is clearly an admonition to protect the RIGHTS OF WORKERS.

“..oppress….. the widow and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger” are clear commands to aid the elderly, orphaned and poor - or as conservatives like to call them, lazy, and shiftless welfare recipients.

These commandments, that Beck calls Communist and Nazi principles and therefore Anti-American and abhorrent, are in the words of the book of Mormon ‘inequities,’ and stand in direct opposition to God’s will.

The book of 2 Nephi, Chapter 26:33 states:  “For none of these iniquities come of the Lord; for he doeth that which is good among the children of men; and he doeth nothing save it be plain unto the children of men; and he invite them ball to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he deny none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remember the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile”

Clearly Beck hates religion…including the one he professes to follow. We knew he hates the Catholic church, but  now he uses this type of hateful rhetoric toward the church he claims to attend, and the conservatives aren't calling him to the mat for it.

So.  The questions that must be asked are;  Why does Glen Beck hate God so much?, Is he truly an agent of the Devil? Is he just out to destroy religion as we all know it?  Or is he just HIGH, like his daddy Rush?

Either way, people of faith from either side of the political divide should question the morality of a man like this who actively denigrates the religious principles they try to live their lives by and Mormons should demand some answers from him.

State of the Union 2010 - ORIGINAL EDIT

Madam Speaker, Vice President Biden, members of Congress, distinguished guests, and my fellow patriotic Americans:

Our Constitution declares that from time to time, the President shall give to Congress information about the state of our union. Tonight I shall do just that.

I have, over the course of the last few days and weeks come to understand the anger and frustration of the people over the state of affairs in this nation, and I have decided to heed the voices of patriotic, real Americans. Those living in the REAL America.

First, I would like to announce that I was wrong during the election when I disagreed with Senator John McCain that the economy was “Fundamentally Sound.” John was right. The economy was and is fundamentally sound, and although Senator McCain himself and then-President Bush both urged a bailout of the financial system, I was the one that was wrong, NOT THEM.

I must also admit that my friends in the GOP are correct that asking these financial institutions to actually return the monies they begged for would be unfair to them. And any actions to try to tax the impressive bonuses given by the taxpayers to the wonderfully, successful bankers who have worked tirelessly to create our fundamentally sound system, would also be unfair and un-democratic.

Also, I would like to take this opportunity to applaud the Supreme Court and the wisdom that they have in making the important decisions that the people of American are obviously incapable of making. The only exception I have is one unfair ban that they have chosen to ignore; that of the ban on foreign individuals on actually voting in our American elections. Why, we the people feel that we should alone have the privilege of participating in the great institution that is known as American Democracy is beyond me. It is, after all, an issue of Free Speech as the wise Justices noted, and to prohibit any tax-paying non-citizen individual from freely contributing to the political process financially and at the ballot box is fundamentally unfair. I know that the High Court agrees with me as I see Justices Alito and Thomas fist-bumping. I ask that the court further address this grievous oversight.

And lest I ignore some very important words, let me say them forcefully and with conviction right now. TERROR, TERRORISM, ISLAMIC TERRORISM, 9/11, CHRISTMAS BOMBER, FT. HOOD AND TERRORISM.

Next, I must admit, I have finally seen the light. Socialism IS evil. Socialism kills. Socialism rewards the lazy and useless. It’s all about Capitalism now, baby.

Upon investigation, it is frightening to discover how widespread the infection of Liberal Socialism is throughout the body America, but now that these devious designs of the Statists have been exposed, America can be saved. I offer a preliminary introduction to some of the more egregious, yet little known Communist cancers; these are but the tip of the iceberg.

1 – The United States Post Office – In Soviet Russia, the postal service was part of People's Commissariat of Communications. In China it’s called China Post – actually, it is called the State Post Bureau of the People's Republic of China, and its part of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications which is under the direction of the Ministry of Information. It costs the equivalent of .08 cents (US) to mail a letter within China. The cost to deliver that article is far greater and subsidized by the state. Of course, there is no expectation of privacy when mailing a correspondence, so that is a trade off.

In America, the same apparatus is called the United States Postal Service, and it’s led by a ‘general’ who is not elected, but appointed by the President, and up until the 1970s the Postmaster General was actually in the Presidential line of succession…how democratic.

Comrade Post Master General leads a force of over 800,000 employees that can not function on its revenues alone and relies on the government to prop it up. The USPS is a service that would make Marx proud.

TERRORISM.

It costs the USPS an average of $234 per year – per citizen – to deliver mail to Americans. What? Did you think all of those catalogs and sales circulars magically appeared in your mailbox?

First year Postal Employees receive 13 days vacation, 13 sick days, excellent healthcare coverage under the Federal Employees Health Benefits program, retirement benefits from the Federal Retirement Program, a 401k type program called the Thrift Savings Plan with a 5% matching contribution from the USPS, as well as a fully employer paid life insurance plan. And do you know how hard it is to get fired from this cushy job??

Last year the Post Office lost over 6 billion dollars. That’s like bailing out GM every four years. Do they care? NOPE. Hard working American patriots can pay for Comrade Mail Man’s wonderfully easy life. The post office receives a TARP-worthy bailout every single year.

To add insult to injury the Federal government suppresses free competition and forces private curriers to play with a handicap. Some years ago, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the obstruction of free trade by deciding that the more efficient, privately run Federal Express and United Parcel Service could be forbidden from using private citizen’s privately owed mailboxes to deliver mail. In fact, Fed-Ex and UPS are forbidden from even calling their parcels ‘mail.’ Government controlling the means of communication sounds pretty Un-American to me.

Does not private enterprise function far more efficiently than this catastrophic failure of a state run experiment? The answer to anyone not named Marx is an emphatic YES.

SEPTEMBER 11.

2 – Social Security. The name says it all. With the help of anti-Statist patriots, we can immediately end the Social Security program – a program that is morally and financially bankrupt. No more will hard working Americans be forced to piss away their hard earned money into this communal urinal of inefficiency. No more will the feebly unemployable old simply be given money. The laws of nature can show us the way.

The savings alone from ending this disastrous experiment will do more for our economy than anything these gray-haired, one-foot-in-the-grave fogies can ever do. The America I know and love does not want to throw good money after bad. So, to those whose argument is that they have paid into the Social Security fund, and thus deserve to benefit from it, I say: It is precisely because YOU did not speak out earlier that this tragedy occurred, comrades. Because YOU failed to stop this indecency, America is suffering. YOU, the people collecting Social Security today, supporting this corrupt system that is bleeding hard working Americans to death; YOU are to blame.

A truly democratic plan would allow hard working Americans to choose whether they want to flush their money down the toilet or not. I think we know how a patriot would decide.

3 – Medicare. The Devil in a lab coat, that’s what Medicare is. Starting today, if you can’t pay…go away. Healthcare costs money. If you can’t afford it, you aren’t trying hard enough. This government no longer needs to support fat, lazy, fast-food junkies with enough plaque in their arteries to build a statue to Lenin. Should the health conscious, those who shop at proud independent retailers like Whole Foods, those who work tremendously hard to keep their bodies fit have to pay to keep these people alive? No, I say. If you can’t pay….go away.

Just as Elephants and Bears know when it is time to die, so should the elderly. Let me be the first to thank all retirees for their years of work. But simply because one worked - as did the brave founders of this nation - does not entitle anyone to wave the Red flag of socialism above the Red, White and Blue Stars and Stripes of democracy.

To this end, I propose to outlaw the AARP, as part of a greater purge of so-called organized labor guilds and unions. The AARP is clearly a socialist ‘association’ that aims to secure special privileges to the elderly for no greater reason than their advanced age. Such entitlement stands contrary to the spirit of independence that our nation was founded upon.

Did the settlers at Williamsburg receive a special stipend simply for being lucky enough to reach a certain age? NO. And neither shall anyone else in the America I know and love. The aged in this nation should thank the sweet Lord of Hosts for being blessed enough to be allowed grow old in this great land, rather than being thrown in front of the Socialist’s Death Panels and euthanized.

A great American once said that old soldiers never died, they just faded away. Well I ask for all Americans over 65 to do their patriotic duty and fade away quickly and quietly rather than becoming the leeches that the Communists in the AARP would have you become. Your final duty in defense of Democracy is to renounce your memberships in these ‘associations’ and exit the stage gracefully just as the great warrior General Douglas MacArthur did.

The Eskimos don’t have social security. Do you know what they have? Ice. And when one of their’s gets too old or infirmed to contribute to society, they set them afloat to meet their maker with honor and dignity. Members of the AARP and would be wise to do the same.

ISLAMIC TERRORISM.

4 – Welfare – Is there any more insidiously demonic incarnation of the anti-American character of Friedrich Engels than welfare? The very notion of rewarding those who refuse to work is about as evil as anything ever seen in these great United States. It sickens me to even speak of such a nefarious plot to undermine the American entrepreneurial spirit.

Needless to say, no REAL American would EVER accept a welfare check. I know my supporters agree.

5 – The Department of Housing and Urban Development - The preamble to the Constitution mentions, Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. No where does it mention housing. Enough said.

6 – The Department of Education – I know I’ll have to explain this several times to anyone who has had the misfortune of attending a public learning institution in the United States, but here goes; This government has way better things to do than to ‘educate’ the filthy unwashed spawn of the jobless, illiterate underclass. The Founding Fathers NEVER intended for the government to pay for schooling. To think so is an affront to the land that I love, and I will have no part of it. If you want your kids to learn, either teach them yourselves or send them to a private learning center. If you think your spawn deserve to be educated simply for being born in this great land, you are stupid, and a Communist. Senator Boner agrees, right John? And I know that all patriots watching this at home tonight will agree with me and will remove their children from public schooling immediately. Just like healthcare, those who really want to educate their children will figure out a way to do so without the government’s interference.

7 – The Department of Veteran Affairs – Many patriots, among them the fair and balanced patriots at Foxnews – the most trusted infotainment source on basic cable, have agreed for some time that this organization is an evil socialist experiment in population control. Once ours brave soldiers have exhausted their worth to the collective, they should be disposed of in the cheapest manner possible – at least the Statists at the VA believe that.

As the leader of the Republican party said recently while in Hawaii; America already has state-of-the-art private medical facilities, why do we need the government to operate hospitals too?

Americans don’t need a Veteran’s Administration. Liberty means that we can administer our own affairs. Tyranny is the death panel for veterans. We owe it to our brave veterans to dismantle the VA as quickly as we can. By its own admission the VA’s budget has more than doubled since 2001 to 112 billion dollars today. Veterans should be allowed to choose their own medical professionals, and not be forced to accept lesser care such as we have seen at Walter Reed for sometime now. Many of our veterans return home with more skill than they left with and can find gainful employ with which to pay for a far-superior private insurance package without having to submit to the indignity of a Veterans Affairs review board.

TERRORISM, TERRORISM, TERRORISM.

8 – The National Park Service. The taxpayers of this nation pay roughly 2.4 billion dollars a year to support a “National” park system. We do not need to nationalize parks and recreation. More people visit Florida’s Disney World complex in one year (46.1 million per year) than will visit Everglades National Park (1 million per year) in the next 45 years. This year, more than 8 times as many visitors will enjoy Disney than will enjoy the Grand Canyon. Disney’s success on a tiny fraction of the acreage of Everglades and Grand Canyon National Parks is further a testament to America’s capitalist ideals. Indeed, the privatization of the entire National park system will be a boon to local economies and will likely improve the quality of experience for each and every visitor to come.

These examples are but a few, there is much more that can be done to purge our systems of the poisons of socialism. But, it does not stop in Washington DC. Locally, there are even more Socialist schemes to control your life;

1 – The so-called ‘Public’ utilities and services

A - Sanitation Departments. Do we really need to have the government run around picking up our trash when the precious resources wasted could be better used to combat Socialism? The very existence of so-called Public Sanitation is a farce – another example of government involvement where the private sector can do the job better. Can’t take your own crap to the dump? Then live in it. Don’t want to live in it? Contract a private carting company, or should only businesses have that honor? Think about it Americans. How many closet Commies do you know who pretend to love America and still want Comrade Garbage Man pick up their smelly refuse? Talk about elitist entitlement. I know, it is a plague for sure. Look closely at your neighbors, Patriots. The Statist will have you believe that it is their RIGHT to have their trash hauled away. LIES. It’s not in the Constitution is it?

B - ‘Energy’. Does anyone know how George Washington got energy for his home? He cut down a damn tree himself. This is a no-brainer, Patriots.

Tyrants and Statists wish for the government to limit free market dynamics and control what a private energy provider can charge for it’s services. California is a perfect example of the success of de-regulated energy trade. Profits of energy providers skyrocketed, and with that, jobs and wealth were created.

C – ‘Public Safety’ – another fallacy perpetuated by the jack-booted brown shirts. I don’t need anyone to protect me, I got Smith and Wesson. This country spends billions on ‘security.’ If every American owed a gun, we wouldn’t need any Police. Guns would be feared unlike the woefully inefficient socio-political intimidation machines that State and Federal law enforcement have become. The proof is that today’s security conscious Americans already choose private security firms to protect their assets. Even the Federal government and U.S. military choose private security when it comes to their important people and places. The logical extension of this is to allow the public to choose their own public safety provider. Competition would dictate fair market rates for this extremely hazardous occupation. And the burden placed on municipalities for socialist entitlements like pensions workmen’s compensation would be removed once and for all.

D – ‘Fire fighting’ – Once and future domain of private enterprise. It has already been proven that private enterprise is a far superior choice to publicly supported inefficient boondoggles like Fire ‘Departments’. We don’t need a tax to support firefighting efforts. Private firefighting companies can and will allow patriotic Americans to only pay when they themselves have an applicable emergency. Most Americans go their entire lives with no occasion to call on a fire department. Why the hell should they be forced to pay for firefighters to put out a fire started by some loser smoking in bed? Why should you or I be forced to pay for firefighters to rescue the non-contributing free-loaders when they burn down their housing project with their crack pipes?

Ambulatory medical services also must be the domain of private enterprise – it is a service the same as a private medical practice and should be treated the same. The public would benefit from a range of service levels to fit their budgets, and our towns and cities would not have to bear any insurance liabilities, saving billions annually. The same could be done with Emergency Medical treatment. Just as one would visit their bank branch during business hours for routine services and use automated tellers 24 hour a day for limited services, so could medical providers provide fee-based premium localized emergency services.

Privatizing firefighting and emergency medical services would be the best thing we Americans could do for the brave men and women who put their lives on the line as first responders. Private enterprise could offer more competitive wages to fire fighters and would surely be better equipped to steer this industry toward profitability than any local level politicians.

Just like our healthcare system, more competition will lead to better services being offered to the public and natural accountability, especially since we know that people won’t spend money on a product they dislike. Simple. Phil Gramm agrees, he sick and tired of the whiney cops and drunken firemen too.

SEPTEMBER 11. TERRORISM. ISLAMIC TERRORISM.

2 – Public Transportation – Hello?? Welfare on Wheels is what that should be called. You want to get somewhere? Get a car, or use your feet. Why do Federal, State, and Local governments need to support those who cannot afford their own transportation? How obvious a Socialist concept is public transportation?

Case in point, in New York, the MTA has a budget of almost $10 billion dollars a year. In 2008 it ran a deficit of over $2.6 Billion. The MTA’s own budget report states that only 40% of its annual revenue comes from the fare box. 33% ($3.2 Billion) comes from taxes imposed on all citizens regardless of whether they ride or not. An additional 9% ($878 Million) comes directly from State and Local subsidies.

Basically, patriots, we are paying to shuttle around millions of people who are unwilling to earn enough to get themselves around without a hand out from the government. Does it get any more Socialist than this?? Maybe we should nationalize the Airlines. Maybe we should nationalize Greyhound too. How’s Amtrak working out, huh? To make matters worse, once again entitlement rears its self-centered head. Additional millions of fare box revenues are lost annually by giving discriminatory preference and subsidies to the young, elderly, and handicapped. How is this fair??

I call on real Americans and patriots to boycott their local public transportation system and make their way to work privately – the American way.

Additionally, by privatizing the MTA, we can return over $4.2 Billion dollars year to the taxpayers, increase business activity, competition and create wealth. That’s democracy in action. That’s freedom from tyranny.

My fellow Americans, a new day is dawning on the Land of the Free. And I stand before you, a convert, having seen the bright light of Capitalism, the shining path to the future. I ask for you to join me in fully and finally rejecting the insanity that is the Socialization of America – something that has been slowly eroding the very fiber of our freedom.

Tough decisions will have to be made, but you are the Americans to do it. This can be a glorious new chapter in the great American story. We must rid ourselves of our old, staid ways, and embrace a new, purer America.

Next week I shall outline a new bi-partisan program called “Better Dead Than Red” – A guide for seniors on how to Fade Away patriotically without resorting to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and other poisonous Socialist evils.

With these changes I am proposing today, the United States of America WILL save almost $300 BILLION DOLLARS ANNUALLY. THAT equates to an annual savings of OVER $500 MILLION DOLLARS to each and every corporation on the Forbes 500 list. AND an additional annual savings of well over 16 CENTS for every man, woman and child living in the United States. Talk about stimulus!  Look out Libby, Bob won't need that Viagra anymore.

Lastly, I would like to address something that my esteemed Republican colleagues have rightly called an important issue to be explored.

On February 4, 1961 a clandestine meeting took place between Nikita Khrushchev, Mao Tse-tung, Fidel Castro, John F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King with the aim of bringing about the eventual destruction of the United States and the end of modern Capitalist Democracy. Nine months later, on August, 4, 1961 I was born in Mombassa, Kenya. I have no actually parentage. The sperm of these men was forcefully inserted into an unsuspecting white woman. I was raised in a small container and indoctrinated in the teachings of the great Marx, Engals, and Lenin. I was instilled with a deep seated hatred toward white people. Eventually, I was smuggled into Hawaii – the least American of all of the states – and was groomed for my inevitable mission. The rest is history. But thanks to the newest Dental Surgeon-General / Purity Czar, Orly Taitz, Esq. DDS. I have been reformed, been generously given Temporary Migrant Worker Status, and have had all of my Socialist dental work re-done. Thank you Orly. Shalom.

In closing, I would like to add a few final words; TERROR. TERROR. TERROR. 9/11 TERROR, TERROR, TERROR, 9/11. BUY GOLD.

Thank you and God Bless America – and by God, I mean Jesus, not the big-nosed Jew God, or the Kung-Pao God of the Yellows, or whatever those Pakis pray to, but Jesus Christ, the only God to have ever visited Palmyra, New York, USA. The true God of freedom.

SHOCK! GRAVITY, A HOAX?

BREAKING NEWS - URGENT

New letters recently uncovered and purportedly written by famed English scientist Sir Isaac Newton’s gardener have thrown the conservative blogosphere into turmoil with the apparent admission that his groundbreaking work on gravity was a fraud.

Conservative critics are blasting the scientific community for accepting without question the 320 year old concept of Universal Gravitation first articulated by Newton in 1687.

Nationally syndicated Radio talk show host, and de-facto leader of the Republican party Rush Limbaugh was particularly apoplectic upon hearing the news and angrily accused liberals of hatching a plan to bilk the public out of millions of dollars with “voodoo weight-loss schemes,” He lashed out at Jenny Craig for helping to propagate the ‘myth’ of obesity. Limbaugh lambasted Newton, saying “Are we supposed to trust a man that had just been hit in the head by a flying object? I don’t think so.”

The letter, which was recently authenticated by document specialist, Orly Taitz appears contradict the popular story of Newton’s epiphany under an apple tree. In the letter, Newton’s personal gardener, and head groundskeeper at Cambridge University in England, claims to have thrown the apple at Newton to protest Newton’s failure to publicly reject science and embrace the Lord. The letter details how the Spirit of the Lord sent the apple down from the tree specifically for the man pick up and hurl at the famed scientist in order to kill him.

Limbaugh reasoned that since there was no gravity, there could therefore be no such a thing as weight making it impossible for someone to be overweight. “We are what we are.” He said. “That’s the way God made us, and to try to change God’s vision of mankind is heresy, an assault on religion and part of an ongoing socialist, atheist plot to kill Jesus.”

Calling gravity a farce, prominent republican thinker and Facebook aficionado, Sarah Palin declared that after her own exhaustive Biblical research, she had concluded that Newton’s influential theories were ‘jibber-jabber’ intended to line the pockets of the ‘liberal elite.’ She noted that there was simply no credible evidence to support the claim. She continued to point that it was a ‘proven fact’ that gravity did not, in fact even exist, and that only through the power of Jesus are real Americans being kept from flying off into space. Palin explained that on clear nights she could see thousands of stars in the heavens from her home in Wasilla, and if there was some sort of ‘magic gravitationality’ [sic] those stars would have fallen into the earth long ago. Dismissing the entire notion of Gravity, Palin lumped the concept in with other “phony hooey-dooey scams” like Dinosaurs, Swine Flu, and Islam.

Glenn Beck, dedicated an entire week’s worth of coverage to Gravity-gate, which he explained was definitive proof of the further erosion of the Christian values in America. “Now Obama and his Czars are trying to tell us that Jesus never ascended to Heaven because it is physically impossible? Who are they fooling, folks??”

Beck went on to connect the Weight Watchers organization to an elaborate conspiracy to deny the existence of Christ. He also said that Weight Watchers was a socialist arm of the Obama administration beset with corruption and dubbed it “ACORN for fatties.”

“Now the libs trying to tell us that gravity is a law. I don’t see it in the constitution, but Barry Hussein and his cronies want us to be forced to follow their so-called law of gravity!! These monsters,” he said, wiping away tears, “Are trying to keep honest Americans down…literally!” Beck then produced a chart which he said de-coded a secret message hidden in the word “GRAVETY” [sic] that proved “beyond a shadow of a doubt” that the almost universally excepted principle of physics is a myth. The chart is shown below.

G = Greedy

R = Racist

A = Athiest

V = Vultures

E = Enthusiastically

T = Taking

Y = Your freedom

Beck echoed the emerging conservative meme that only God is to be credited for keeping life from being flung off of the planet. Beck also exhorted parents of school children to shred any school textbook that even mentions the word gravity, and he urged his viewers to instead buy gold from one of his shows remaining advertisers as a show of their liberty and devotion to God.  Beck did save some kind words for the "former heredical Jew" Newton, whom Beck announced, had converted to Mormanism in 2003.

HOW TO TURN "OPINIONS" INTO "NEWS"

Last weekend Rush Limbaugh stopped by the "Fox News Sunday" show hosted by Chris Wallace. FNS is a Fox News Channel “Opinion” show (their words, not mine) as defined by Fox senior vice president for news, Michael Clemente’s announcement of the distinction between “news” and “opinion” programming on the Fox News Channel.

In case you are interested, Clemente said actual objective “news” reporting was limited to the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays only. That’s about 27% of FNC’s total programming schedule – not much news for a channel with the word “news” in its title, one would think. I’m not sure MSNBC does very much better, but, then again, they don’t put ‘news’ in their title either.

Anyway, Rush was the main guest on the show and sat for a ‘wide ranging’ interview. Topics ranged widely from criticism of Obama as president all the way to criticism of Obama as a person. For 30 minutes Limbaugh excitedly expressed his negative “opinions” of the President, encouraged by the similarly minded Chris Wallace, including his “opinion” that President Obama used his Dover Air Force Base visit purely for political gain and that Obama didn’t actually care for our brave men and women of the Armed Forces. Nothing really wrong there – the show is admittedly “opinion” programming and not objective “news” reporting. But what happened later was more than a little deceptive.

First, the blogosphere (both conservative and liberal) took notice of the interview and began to reprint the “opinions” expressed by Limbaugh. Soon other outlets picked up the story as well, including TPM, Drudge, HuffPo and Politico. There is nothing wrong with this either. Many of the sites I mentioned operate primarily as news aggregation websites, re-titling items generated elsewhere to suit their readers, and they make no claims of being “Fair and Balanced” like Fox does. Suddenly, though, it seemed that Limbaugh’s “opinion” was becoming “news.”

About 3 hours after the interview, a “news” item appeared on the Fox News website among the top stories of the day referencing Limbaugh’s interview. The item was not “below the fold” – as Clemente likes to refer to Fox’s “opinion” programming, alongside their other “opinion” pieces, but right at the top alongside Fox’s “objective news”.

Before long this “news” item became THE top story of the day on Foxnews.com, replete with a photo of an incredulous looking Rush set within a photo of Obama saluting a returning dead soldier’s flag-draped coffin, with the blaring headline “Limbaugh Blasts Obama ‘PHOTO OP?’”

Limbaugh’s (and Fox’s) “opinions” of President Obama were thus re-branded and presented as “news.” But is it really “news” that Limbaugh thinks Obama is a ‘Narcissist’ or that he thinks Obama is out to ‘destroy the private sector’? By the way; what was the reason for the question mark if not to forward the “opinion” that the photo-op was disingenuous.

And so, there it is. Fox’s journalistic version of money laundering. Repackage “opinions” as genuine “news” and pass them off to the unsuspecting public.

Fox and conservatives argue that Rush’s statements in and of themselves are newsworthy and would therefore qualify as bonafide “news,” but the point of the item wasn’t to report on Rush’s comments, it was clearly to legitimize those “opinions.”

Clemente and the rest of the Fox brass can try all they want to compartmentalize their “opinion” programming, but when they blatantly present “opinions” as “objective” journalism they aren’t fooling anyone.

UPDATE: For a appropriate example of this type of behavior in action, check out today’s Foxnews page, and it’s coverage of Bow-gate 2. Brought up by fringe Neo-cons on Sunday, suddenly it is “news” that the President respected Japanese culture by bowing to the Emperor. See: Bad Form, or 'When in Rome...'?

REAL Lessons from the Summer of Hate.

Its not the fact the Joe Wilson has the self-control of a 5 year old. It’s not the fact that he has no couth – Congress has a long proud history of hosting the crude and morally challenged of all political persuasions. Its not even the fact that political rhetoric in this nation is at it’s lowest point since Joe McCarthy. It is singularly the fact that the Republican Party has totally abandoned the one ‘value’ that they had previously championed above others; Patriotism.

In the past, Republicans took great pains to highlight to the public that THEY were the party of Christian family values and; that THEY would never behave like the Godless liberals; that THEY respected the institution of government above all, no matter who was in charge. They wrapped themselves in the flag, demanded a strict adherence to a manufactured code of reverence for the symbols of the nation, and relentlessly denigrated those who didn’t match their nationalistic fervor.

Replace the Bush caricatures and anti-government slogans of 2004’s peace demonstrations with the Obama caricatures and anti-government slogans of this summer’s tea-bag protests, and the rallies appear quite similar on the surface. THE DIFFERENCE is that back when it was the Democrats doing the protesting, the GOP lost its collective marbles.

For the past 8 years, they wagged their fingers at anyone who deigned to criticize George W Bush, because, naturally, those who spoke ill of the President of the United States during a time of war were ‘emboldening the enemy’ and would therefore be responsible of the deaths of US servicemen and women in uniform. They said protesting the war was tantamount to aiding and abetting the enemy. They charged that the protestors were WORSE than Bin Laden himself. They were aghast at photos likening Bush to Hitler. How horrible. It was an insult to the President and to the brave Americans who died fighting the Nazis. He was the elected leader of the United States, the greatest nation in the world and therefore he deserved respect.

During Reagan’s and both Bush (41 and 43) administrations, the political doctrine crafted by Reganites Cheney, Rove and Ashcroft dominated the landscape. Their Neo-Conservative movement synergized a fanatically puritanical ethic by blending elements of patriotic national duty with obedient service to the Lord.

September 11, 2001 assisted in the sanctification of the names and symbols of their image of the United States – Reagan’s Christian “Shining City on the Hill.” Flag worship reached epic levels. Bully patriotism ruled. You were either ‘with us’ or ‘against us.’

Republicans proudly sported red, white, and blue ribbons emblazoned with the motto. “I Support the President of the United States,” implying that anti-war liberals hated America and actually wanted our soldiers to die. Lapel flag-pins became a measure of patriotic commitment. God Bless America was no longer just a patriotic song; it was an ode to the divine consecration of this nation’s most-favored status in Heaven. It was a prayer to the God of America – Their God and their America. Anyone who didn’t fall into line was a traitor, plain and simple.

Predictably, this January, a few days after George Bush quit D.C. for good Republicans reacted in horror as a few in the crowd gathered for the Obama inaugural derisive cheered the outgoing President. They argued that that Republicans would never act as ‘low-class’ as that. Never. Not a Republican. Respect the rank, not the man, they demanded.

John McCain vowed that the GOP would be a ‘loyal’ minority, not-so-subtly suggesting that Democratic opponents to George Bush were somehow disloyal in their dissent. Republicans may not agree with Obama, McCain argued, but they were Americans first, and they would always support the President of the United States no matter what.

These were to be their final acts of ‘traditional’ patriotism.

Reality set in as the Right Wing found itself completely shut out of power for the first time in almost 15 years. Suddenly the notion of blind obedience to the President didn’t look so fun. Their rules of patriotism and values no longer seemed to apply.

So, they changed the rules, and a new patriotism was born – a Neo-Patriotism. No longer was dissent treason. Suddenly, it became the pinnacle of patriotism, and if one did NOT dissent, well then they were now the traitors to this democracy. The reversal was stunning, and supremely hypocritical.

It started quietly the very first week of the Obama Presidency. Longtime Neo-Con hack, former Bush Chief of Staff and Czar of Bush’s White House Iraq Group , Andrew Card, who began his career in the Reagan White House, chastised the new President like a parent scolding an insolent child over his apparently too-informal Oval Office dress.

The implication, of course, was that Obama was either woefully ignorant of the rules of White House etiquette and deference, or worse, was insultingly flouting a sacred, albeit fictitious, tradition. Either way, to the Neo-Cons this was evidence that the man with the ‘deep-seated hatred for the white man’ was unfit to lead America. Right wing media operatives took to the airwaves and lectured America ad-nauseum on how proto-patriot Ronald Reagan never, ever took his jacket off in the Oval Office because he revered the room so much – that is until photos of a jacketless Gipper sitting at his Oval Office desk emerged. Ironically, also discovered were pictures of Andy Card himself defiling the Oval Office with his unpatriotically-casual attire.  Oh, and by the way...George W. also went jacketless in the Oval Office, just fyi.

This spring, the Flying Monkey brigade of the Republican Party began openly wishing for the failure of the American President – as if there was no correlation between the Executive failing and the nation’s woes – and the began promoting wild conspiracy theories in an attempt to de-legitimize President Obama to rationalize behavior that they themselves had previously decried as anti-American.

Unfortunately, the elected leadership of the party lacked the fortitude to stand up to the hysterical ranting, and stood aside impotently as the Furious Few of the fringe became the public face of the Grand Old Party. The inmates were taking over the asylum.

Led by the self-serving Neo-Con-Media’s millionaire celebrity mouth pieces, Republicans have spent the first 8 months of the Obama administration actively renouncing most of their previously held beliefs of inherent respect for the President of the United States of America, the institution of American democracy and the concept of the loyal minority.

They howl that the stimulus was Communist and inherently anti-free market – even though both Bush and McCain supported the plan originally championed by Bushie, Ben Bernanke. Ironically, Bernanke himself was originally appointed by Dubya. to be the Chairman of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers. Yes, Ben Bernanke was George W. Bush’s Economic Czar.

Right wing Republican governors held news conferences specifically to denounce the very idea of being forced to receive Federal funds to aid their state’s failing economies. They claimed that Obama was becoming a dictator. Some actually threatened secession - because apparently one of the most patriotic of American ideals these days is advocating the dissolution of the beloved Union itself.

They call the President a racist. They call him a liar. They call him a Nazi AND a Communist rolled into one - the Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup of anti-American evil. They say he will kill grandma, turn junior into a homosexual with the covert help of Playboy magazine, and physically force all women to have abortions whether they are pregnant of not.

They play to any and all post 9-11 fears including presenting as definitive proof of the President’s true allegiances the fact that his middle name is Hussein and last name sounds like Osama. To some it is just too coincidental that his name is so similar to those of the two biggest enemies of the United States. Really.

But the real charge is in the snide insinuation that the Obama is not even American. NOT ONLY is he not American, but he is a Muslim too – GASP! They claim that Obama might not be constitutionally permitted to be President, therefore it is their duty to rise up in rebellion….you know, that whole ‘Watering the Tree of Liberty’ thing.

Self described ‘men of god’ now publicly pray for the death of the president – apparently another newly consecrated patriotic, as well as Christian, principle. Mind you, if these so-called clergymen happened to be Muslim, they’d be branded radical anti-American clerics, but to the right wing they are Christian soldiers in the righteous fight against Statist tyranny.

Neo-Con corporate media uses its might to promote, participate and manipulate ‘grassroots’ rallies and demonstrations, protecting their financial interests and even profiting by reporting rumor and innuendo as fact, spreading disinformation and manufacturing ‘rage’ photo-ops for the sake of ratings.

Random, ‘average’ Americans show up at town-hall meeting armed to the teeth with assault rifles on their shoulders, as if they were in Afghanistan instead of Arizona. Revolutionary rhetoric is regularly invoked amid not-so-veiled threats of violence. Conservative publications call for the violent overthrow of the US Government by its own military. What can more democratic than a coup?

Members of Congress freely circulate, emails and song parodies about the Magic Negro. Photos portray the President as a bone-in-the-lip witchdoctor. Elected officials openly support the ‘birthers’ who cling as strongly to their conspiratorial notions of Obama’s Presidential illegitimacy as they do to their guns and bibles. Equally complicit though, are those Republicans who don’t speak up at all, and stand by in silent agreement with extremists who literally believe in an elaborate plot hatched decades ago to infiltrate America with a tiny 8 pound Indonesian Al Qaeda sleeper agent. Not many had the gumption to push back against these outlandish alligations like Senator Lindsey Graham did when he called out Glenn Beck.

Neo-Conservatives became completely unhinged recently at the prospect of the current President of the United States addressing the nation’s schoolchildren. Some of them screamed that Obama the Socialist was indoctrinating their kids; that letting him near them would be like supporting the collective molestation of the youth of America. They bawled that he was politicizing public schools for personal gain. They freaked out over teachers placing Presidential portraits in classrooms as if it weren’t a tradition that dated back to the birth of the nation. In the end, it turned out that the President told the children to study hard and wash their hands often to prevent the spread of germs. The speech was so Socialist, Mao would have been proud.

 In case the Neo-Cons don’t remember, George W. Bush also spoke to schoolchildren. He visited a politically crucial congressional district in a swing state and spoke to the cameras at the back of the class, patting himself on the shoulder for muscling his ‘no child left behind’ legislation through a Republican Congress. And so no one could forget, conservative donors actually paid to have a monument erected on public property memorializing the signing of the bill into law. Nope. No politics there.

Ronald Reagan spoke to schoolchildren while President, too. But that was also before the rules of Neo-Conservatism were changed. What did Ronnie say to the kids of America? He lectured them about the evils of gun control in the midst of the 80’s crack wars. Yes, kids, guns are good. Cowboy President Ronnie said so. Clearly, back then bringing partisan politics into the schools wasn’t considered child abuse like it is today.

And the most recent example of the Republican Party’s New Rules for American Patriotism was the positively orgasmic reaction to the President’s unsuccessful bid to bring the 2016 Olympics to Chicago. After weeks of trashing Chicago, portraying the city as Mogadishu on Lake Michigan, inhabited by two-by-four wielding marauders on the South Side and morbidly obese mid-western Daly liberals on the North, when the IOC ultimately selected Rio de Janeiro these ‘patriots’ cheered, gloated, and pronounced that world had finally rejected Obama.

At least we all now know that to the Neo-Con ‘patriots’ the success of their GOP is more important than the success of the nation.

To be fair, there are a few moderate Republicans left who have spoken out against the radicalization of the GOP, however all but the strongest are being browbeaten into submission, forced to offer embarrassing mea culpas at the feet of the Neo-Con hatertainers, or run out of what remains of the ‘Big Tent’ party.

The few as-yet unmuzzled voices of conservatism who continue to speak out, like John Derbyshire, columnist for the conservative National Review, who coined a term that is very accurate: "Happy Meal Conservatism, cheap, childish and familiar," and Reagan biographer, Steven Hayward who asks the question; "Is Conservatism Brain-Dead?"  are being increasingly marginalized in the battle for the GOP.

It is sad, but fitting, that this is what has become of the GOP. America voted down the Neo-Con philosophy in 2008, of that there is no doubt. The hate, rage, and anger they are displaying now is the same as the juvenile theatrics of a jilted teenager lashing out over being dumped. They refuse to examine their own behavior.  If you don’t love me, then you’re a bitch.  Unfortunately that line of argument rarely wins the girl back.

BEWARE THE IDES OF AUGUST....OR MAYBE NOT.

Some juicy tid-dits from a FOX NEWS POLL.

Presumably, Fox  News is the only Fair and Balanced news/entertainment outlet, so the results of their most recent poll are definitely interesting.  I knew there was a reason that Fox didn't feature the poll.

According to the most recent Fox News poll President Obama’s approval numbers are almost EXACTLY where they were before the Summer of Hate’s town halls and tea-bagging parties – to be precise, they’ve RISEN.  The “rapid deterioration” of support for the President that Fox’ers like Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity are alleging ISN’T actually happening contrary to what Fox viewers are being told ad nauseum.

Did I mention that this was a Fox News poll?

More fun;

• The Poll shows that while the number of responders who say they will vote for a Democrat in the 2010 election “to help Barack Obama pass his policies and programs” has remained the same since the Great Tea Bagging at 40%, the number of responders that say that they will vote for a Republican to “to provide a check on Obama's power” has FALLEN by 5% from 40% to 35%.

• Support for “health care reform legislation being considered right now” has actually INCREASED by 4% since August. Opposition has DECREASED by 1%.

• The amount of people who “think the Obama administration is proposing too much of an increase in government” has FALLEN 1% since May of 2009.

Even with the conservative semantics of the polling, the results of these key questions showed that for all of the histrionics of the lunatic fringe the general mood of the electorate – as polled by Fox – hasn’t changed at all.  If anything support for healthcare reform has seemed to pick up since August. Claims of a ‘grassroots’ campaign gaining strength would appear to be hollow.  These would seem to be a huge defeat for the Flying Monkey brigade who dedicated their summer to serving up President Obama his own Waterloo.
Did I mention that this was a Fox News poll?
Despite all of the coverage of outraged citizens at the tea parties and town halls, Beck, Limbaugh, Levin and Hannity haven’t convinced anyone outside of their already devoted based that the apocalypse would be upon us should healthcare reform be realized.  Sure, these ‘entertainers’ have made millions along the way, have best-selling books dominating the sales charts, and have given their network record ratings, but they're not really converting anyone. It would appear that even Foxnews viewers aren’t buying the hype being peddled by the Furious Few.
